Simple Volume with Pocket Pivots · by finallynitin
Read volume the way the pros do, in colour.
No average line to squint at. The colour of each bar already tells you if the day was heavy, quiet, or a pocket pivot. Tap any bar on this site and it tells you why.
The colours in 30 seconds
Tap a colour. Every bar of that colour lights up, the rest fade.

The real indicator, rebuilt in your browser. Change any setting and the chart follows. Tap any volume bar to see why it got its colour.
“Where's the moving average?”
It's hidden on purpose. The way the bars are colour-coded makes the volume average line redundant: a bar is green or red only when it beats the average, and grey when it doesn't. So the line has nothing left to tell you.
In one version I gave in to a lot of requests and showed the average, then took it out again in the next update. Showing it goes against the whole idea of Simple Volume. Believe me, you won't miss it after a while.

Alerts in 3 steps
- Tick what you want. In the indicator's settings, open Alerts and tick the events: Pocket Pivot, HVE, HVIPO, HVY, HVQ, Bull Snort, High RVol, Dry volume.
- Create one alert. On the chart press Alt + A. For the condition pick Simple Volume, then Any alert() function call.
- Choose when it fires. Back in the settings, Send is either Bar close (no false starts) or As soon as it happens (earlier, but it may not hold by the close). It works on watchlist alerts too.
One alert covers every ticked event. A real message looks like this:
